Born in Odesa on October 5, 1955.
From 1971 until 1973, studied at the Odesa Art College named after Grekov.
From 1975 until 1976, studied at the Odesa Pedagogical Institute named after Ushinsky (graphic arts faculty).
From 1977 until 1978, studied at the Odesa Institute of Civil Engineering (architecture faculty).
In 1980s, the artist’s apartment became a venue for meetings of the Odesa underground representatives. Since 1983, it hosted exhibitions, actions, and performances.
Since 1982, he has met with artists who will form the circle of Odesa conceptualists - with Serhiy Anufriev, Ihor Chatskin, Yuriy Leiderman, the group “Pertsi”. In Odesa, Leonid Voitsekhov acted as curator of numerous exhibitions and events, including, in his apartment.
The artist was forced to labour from 1984 until 1986.
In 1987, moved to Moscow.
From 1987 until 1989, works at the squat on Furmannyi lane, and subsequently moves to the squat on Chistye Prudy.
From 1989 until 1992, curated the “Diaspora” project (exhibition of Jewish artists).
From 1992 until 1999, coordinated the project “Jewish Art Museum of the CIS”.
In 1995, returned to Odesa.
From 2007 until 2009, took part in the actions of “Art-Raiders” group.
In 2016, published an autobiographical book “The Projects”.
Died in Odesa on August 8, 2018.

These are not “linguistic objects” that work with the breaking of semantic paradigms, like in conceptualism, but precisely “speech objects” that are related to the very duration of speaking, expression, living through, and manner of speech”.
